1 - No primeiro lançamento da Shade of Mankind, você gravou tudo sozinho. Como foi esse processo? Quais equipamentos e programas você usou?Foi tranquilo até, peguei um baixo emprestado de um amigo (que no final acabei comprando). Usei o Fruit Loops, EZ Drummer e o Guitar Rig pra gravar, a mixagem foi no Audacity.
2 - Como tem sido a repercussão de Fallout tanto no Brasil como na gringa?
Cara, te digo que a repercussão do Fallout no Brasil foi mas agora por causa dos shows, mas na gringa o pessoal gostou bastante, pelo menos eu vejo um pessoal da Inglaterra gostando. O foda é que quando lanço algum merch da banda pro pessoal daqui, os gringos querem e infelizmente ainda não tenho como disponibilizar isso pra eles, mas nesse futuro próximo estou me planejando para nossa praga sonora e artística se espalhar com mais facilidade.
3 - A capa de Fallout ficou muito boa. Quem a criou?
Carlos Bueso, um velho conhecido meu dos tempos de colégio hehe. Mas pedi pra ele se rolava uma capa, ele veio com essa e até a questão de adotarmos o Beak Doctor como mascote veio pelo fato de eu ter olhado essa capa e pirado nela haha.
4 - O barulho da Shade of Mankind é bem similar/influenciado pela Terrorizer (fase World Downfall). Você gosta dessa comparação? E quais as outras influências?
Quem não gostaria? Hehe. Mas de fato, "Live (To Obey)" foi um som que na hora tava bem influenciado e na idéia de fazer algo na linha do Terrorizer. Em geral minhas influências são muitas e foram variando, no começo do EP estava só com a idéia de fazer um crust na linha Doom e Skitsystem, depois fui pensando em Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Integrity, Celtic Frost entre outras. Agora com a nova formação na banda, temos várias influências e gêneros para abranger musicalmente, creio que não ficaremos presos num só gênero, tentaremos só fazer uma música densa, pesada e sombria. Agora se vai ser Black/Thrash/Death Metal ou Grind, deixo a critério do ouvinte.
5 - Nesse momento a Shade of Mankind contém outros membros, pois a banda está se apresentando ao vivo. Essa formação será fixa ou só para apresentações ao vivo?
No começo era pra ser apenas apoio ao vivo, mas conforme fui me entrosando com os membros e vendo que eles tem técnicas e influências que seriam úteis para o plano da banda, eles começaram a ser fixos. O último membro fixo que nos falta é o baixista, por enquanto um amigo meu que toca em outra banda está fazendo o bico, mas torço para sua permanência no grupo.
6 - Um novo álbum está por vir?
Sim! Por sorte no nosso último show o pessoal nos deu um apoio e comprou boa parte do nosso merch, isso nos deu um baita apoio para a gravação, já que a bateria e vocais serão feitos no estúdio. Neste sábado iremos gravar a primeira safra de músicas, já que teremos um repertório bem longo pra esse primeiro full length nosso, creio que por enquanto temos umas 15 músicas, quero sentar com o pessoal e ver o que vale a pena ser gravado nesse momento e o que não vale.
7 - Rodrigo, você participa de outros projetos/bandas. Poderia mencioná-los?
No momento o único projeto ativo mesmo que tenho é a Viruskorrosivus, banda de hardcore com o Michel Munhoz (Gritos de Alerta, Damn Laser Vampires), Maurício Knevitz (que no momento toca baixo na Shade of Mankind) e o João Carvalho (Living in Hell, Distratö). Uma banda a qual sinto honrado de participar já que a Damn Laser foi uma das primeiras bandas da minha cidade que eu curti pacas. Além dessa tenho 2 projetos que apenas faço algumas músicas pra explorar outros gêneros que gosto mesmo, uma delas é o Lux & Fear, que faz um EBM/Synth Pop bem na linha de grupos como Noir Deco, FM Attack, Gary Numan, Ministry antigão e etc. O outro projeto é uma espécie de dark folk com uns timbres de shoegaze, por enquanto não tem nome e ainda estou fazendo as músicas. Esses dois projetos irei lançar músicas de vez em quando, não serão coisas muito sérias, só uma espécie de "férias" que tiro do caos sonoro mesmo hehe.

1 - In the first release of the Shade of Mankind you recorded everything yourselves. How was this process? What hardware and software you used?
It was quiet until a friend lent the bass (I bought it then). I used Fruit Loops, EZ Drummer and Guitar Rig to record and to the mix was in Audacity.
2 - How has been the repercussion of Fallout in Brazil and abroad?
The bad thing is that when I release some merchandising of the band for people here, the people from other countries want and unfortunately I can not provide it to them, but in the near future I'm planning for our sound plague and artistic will spread more easily.
3 - The cover of Fallout was very good. Who created it?
Carlos Bueso, an old acquaintance of mine in high school hehe. But I asked him if he could do a cover, he came up with this and the question of adopting the Beak Doctor as mascot came by the fact that I have looked at this cover and go mad for it haha.
4 - The noise of the Shade of Mankind is very similar/influenced by Terrorizer (World Downfall phase). Do you like that comparison? And what are other influences?
Who would not? Hehe. But in fact, "Live (To Obey)" was a sound that was very influenced at the time and my idea was to do something along the lines of Terrorizer. In general my influences are many and varied and at the beginning of the EP was only with the idea of making a crust like Doom and Skitsystem and soon I was thinking of bands like Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Integrity, Celtic Frost among others. Now with the new lineup the band we have many influences and genres to include musically I think that we will not be stuck in one genre just try to do a song dense, heavy and dark. Now it the sound will be Black/Thrash/Death Metal and Grind I leave the decision up to the listener.
5 - At this moment the Shade of Mankind contains other members, because the band are playing live. This band formation will be fixed or just for playing live?
In the beginning was to be just live support but over time I have been integrating myself with the members and seeing that they have techniques and influences that would be useful to plan the band and they began to be fixed. The last fixed member that is missing is the bass player which for now is a friend of mine who plays in another band is doing this function but I hope his stay in the group is fixed.
6 - A new album is coming?
Yes! Luckily our last show the audience gave us support and bought a good part of our merchandising and it gave us a great of a support for recording as the drums and vocals will that be done in the studio. This saturday we will record the first crop of songs, since we have a very extensive repertoire for this our first full length, I think for now we have about 15 songs, I want to sit down with staff and see what it's worth being recorded at this time and not worth it.
7 - Rodrigo, you participate in other projects/bands. Could you mention them?
In this moment the only active project that I have is the Viruskorrosivus, hardcore band with Michel Munhoz (Gritos de Alerta, Damn Laser Vampires), Maurício Knevitz (current bass player of the Shade of Mankind) and João Carvalho (Living Hell, Distratö). A band which I feel honored to participate because the Damn Laser was one of the first bands in my town that I enjoyed very much. Besides this I have 2 projects that just do a few songs to explore other genres that I really like and one of them is the Fear & Lux, which is an EBM/Synth Pop and is something like Noir Deco, FM Attack, Gary Numan, old Ministry and etc. The other project is a kind of dark folk with shoegaze tones, for now this project has no name and I'm still doing the music. These two projects I will release music from time to time, things will not be very serious, just some sort of "holiday" to the chaos of sound.
