MORNE - TO THE NIGHT UNKNOWN

É com muito prazer que eu escutei e posto aqui "To The Night Unknown", o quarto álbum da Morne. Com uma nova formação, a Morne mais uma vez não decepcionou e fizeram mais outro álbum pesado, rastejante e trevoso. Os temas líricos são bem pessoais e abortam com ênfase a noite, sombras, escuridão, dor, feridas, frio, medo, chamas, fogo, sol, luz e o amanhacer, na qual pode-se associar aos escritores do Mau do Século como por exemplo, Lord Byron e Álvares de Azevedo. Ao longo das oito excelentes faixas que possui "To The Night Unknown", eu destaco "The Blood Is Our Own", "Scorn" e "Night Awaits The Dawn" como músicas com as características e a assinatura própria da Morne (você escuta e sabe que é Morne, ou seja, estilo único), além da faixa título (belo final acústico) e "Not Our Flame". Inquestionavelmente um dos melhores álbuns de 2018, eu finalizo essa resenha com uma frase de Melisandre, a sacerdotisa vermelha de Asshai e personagem do livro e série televisiva Game of Thrones, na qual se encaixa perfeitamente nessa grande obra feita pela Morne: "A noite é escura e cheia de terrores!". 

It is with great pleasure that I listened to "To The Night Unknown", the fourth album of the Morne. With a new lineup, Morne once again did not disappoint and they made another album more heavy, creepy and shady. The lyrical themes are very personal and heavy with emphasis on the night, shadows, darkness, pain, wounds, cold, fear, flames, fire, sun, light and dawn, in which one can associate this with the writers of the mal du siècle  (is a French, original expression of Chateaubriand, used as a literary topic to refer to the crisis of beliefs and values unleashed in Europe in the nineteenth century, especially in the context of romanticism), for example, Lord Byron and Álvares de Azevedo. Through the eight excellent tracks that have "To The Night Unknown", I highlight "The Blood Is Our Own", "Scorn" and "Night Awaits The Dawn" as songs with the characteristics and signatures of Morne (you listen and automatically know that it is Morne, a very unique style), plus the title track (beautiful final acoustic) and "Not Our Flame". Flame". Unquestionably one of the best albums of 2018, I finish this review with a quote from Melisandre, the Red Priestess from Asshai and character from the book and TV series Game of Thrones, which fits perfectly in this great work done by Morne: "The night is dark and full of terrors!".
