Recorded on November 18, 2018, War Metal in Belo Horizonte is a live record that was released on CD and DVD. The set list is totally focused on the destructive and noisy Campo de Extermínio, the first Holocausto album. The cover art is simply amazing and perfectly captures the spirit of war metal performed by Holocasto (unfortunately, I don't know who the artist is). Below is the link to this brilliant and magnificent presentation with good video quality. POSSESSED - REVELATIONS OF OBLIVION

Possessed is one of the cornerstones of death metal and extreme music, and this is especially due to the powerful Seven Churches, the band's first album released in 1985, an essential work for anyone who enjoys and admires this kind of sound. In 2019, with a new line up, Possessed released Revelations of Oblivion, the third and most recent album, the first with unreleased songs after thirty-three years, succeeding Beyond The Gates of 1986. Composed of twelve tracks, Revelations of Oblivion is a heavy, aggressive and hellishly powerful album that came to take away all the rust of time and songs like "No More Room in Hell", "Damned", "Demon", "Abandoned", "Omen", "Ritual" and "Graven" give all the dynamics to make this album unforgettable. Obviously, a lot of people will make comparisons with Possessed's first albums, but I don't see any need here, as Revelations of Oblivion is a great record and it definitely deserves your attention, besides it is one of the best metal albums released in 2019. The beautiful cover art was made by Zbigniew Bielak; mixing, mastering, producer and recording by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy). Possessed: Jeff Becerra (vocals), Emilio Marquez (drums), Daniel Gonzalez (guitars), Robert Cardenas (bass) and Claudeous Creamer (guitars).

A Possessed é um dos pilares do death metal e da música extrema e isso se deve especialmente ao poderoso Seven Churches, o primeiro álbum lançado pela banda em 1985, uma obra essencial para quem curte e admira esse tipo som. Em 2019, com um novo line up, a Possessed lançou Revelations of Oblivion, o terceiro e mais recente álbum com músicas inéditas depois de trinta e três anos, sucedendo Beyond The Gates de 1986. Composto por doze faixas, Revelations of Oblivion é um álbum pesado, agressivo e cheio de poder infernal que veio para tirar toda ferrugem do tempo, onde músicas como "No More Room in Hell", "Damned", "Demon", "Abandoned", "Omen", "Ritual" e "Graven" dão toda a dinâmica para que este álbum ser inesquecível. Obviamente, muitas pessoas vão fazer comparações com os primeiros álbuns da Possessed, mas não vejo necessidade disso por aqui, pois Revelations of Oblivion é um puta registro e que merece sem dúvidas a sua atenção, além disso, é um dos melhores álbuns de metal lançados em 2019. A belíssima arte de capa foi feita por Zbigniew Bielak; a mixagem, masterização, produção e gravação por conta de Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy). Possessed: Jeff Becerra (vocal), Emilio Marquez (bateria), Daniel Gonzalez (guitarra), Robert Cardenas (baixo) e Claudeous Creamer (guitarra).

Released in October 1979, the same year as Overkill, but a few months apart, Bomber is simply a gimmick that Motörhead launched to destroy everything and make history. Bomber stems from the success of the wonderful masterpiece Overkill, where the label rushed the process of recording the album that was crazy, including the participation with the late producer Jimmy Miller who was always late or sleeping during the recordings and possessed by heroin inside of the studio and this somewhat hindered the development of this work. After all this hurry, turbulence and bombing in the studio, the end result of the three amigos on Bomber is originally ten tracks, featuring one of Motörhead's biggest anthems like "Bomber" and "Stone Dead Forever" as well as "Dead Men Tell No Tales", "All The Aces" and "Step Down" (with Eddie on vocals). The cover art was inspired by a World War II German plane called Heinkel and the author of the work is Adrian Chesterman. One of the curiosities surrounding Bomber was the band's tour shortly after the album's release, where a plane (similar to the one on the cover) was built and put above the stage and made movements (a bombing) during Motörhead's performances in those days. Anyway, Bomber is simply one of the greatest works of rock and roll. Motörhead: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals and bass), Fast Eddie Clark (guitars) and Philthy Animal (drums).

Lançado em outubro de 1979, no mesmo ano que Overkill, porém com alguns meses de diferença, Bomber é o simplesmente um pertardo lançado pela Motörhead para destruir tudo e fazer história. Bomber toma origem devido ao sucesso da maravilhosa obra-prima Overkill, onde a gravadora apressou o processo da gravação do álbum que foi uma loucura, incluindo as palas do falecido produtor Jimmy Miller que estava sempre atrasado, dormindo no ponto ou chapado de heroína no estúdio e isso de certa forma acarretou no desenvolvimento desse trabalho. Depois de toda essa pressa, turbulência e bombardeio no estúdio, o resultado final dos três amigos em Bomber são originalmente dez faixas, na qual estão um dos maiores hinos das Motörhead como "Bomber" e "Stone Dead Forever", além de "Dead Men Tell No Tales", "All The Aces" e "Step Down" (com Eddie nos vocais). A capa foi inspirada em um avião alemão da Segunda Guerra Mundial chamado Heinkel e o autor da obra é Adrian Chesterman. EXTREME NOISE TERROR - A HOLOCAUST IN YOUR HEAD

Released  in 1989 by High Speed Recordings, A Holocaust In Your Head is Extreme Noise Terror's first full-length album, following the 1987 The Peel Sessions EP and the 1986 split with Chaos U.K.. Well, considered by many to be Extreme Noise Terror's best record, A Holocaust In Your Head is a noisy and destructive album from start to finish with two very rotten, screaming and guttural vocals, thus defining the most striking features that made Extreme Noise Terror's entire career, moreover, this same album is one of the pillars of what we call crustcore or grindcore (as other people prefer, no problem). A Holocaust In Your Head is composed of thirteen tracks, highlighting both the lyrical part (political/social theme, anti-system and animal rights, for example), as well as the anti-musical part (perfectly called Extreme Noise Terror). It's hard to pick what is the most powerful sound in this record and I imagine many crusties, grinders and punks have the same idea, but it's impossible to talk about this album and not mention "Deceived", "Take The Strain", "Conned Through Life", "We The Helpless" (Kuro cover), "Innocence To Ignorance", "Use Your Mind" ("[...] What do you expect to change with an 'X' on your hand?"), "Another Nail In The Coffin", "Rapping The Earth" and "Bullshit Propaganda" (Ratos de Porão played this song and it became well known in Brazil in the 90's). The vignettes introduced in this recording are unique (in the other versions that I had the opportunity to hear these excerpts were removed) and are from movies considered cult classics nowadays like Street Trash (tracks "Take The Strain" and "Conned Through Life") and Scarface (track "Murder"). A Holocaust In Your Head has its peculiarities, as there are different recordings of this album with the order of different tracks from the original, as well as bonus tracks in the CD version. In short, one of the most noisey albums of all time and I end this review with the words of the last track of the original version: "If you're only in it for the music. Just fuck off we aren't interested. In your stance fascist, racist, sexist shit. Fuck off you fat Nazi pig bastard. Milano - you're dead!". ENT on this recording were: Stick (Doom), Mark (The Wankys), Pete, Dean, Phil and Leggo (Deviated Instinct).

A Holocaust In Your Head é composto por treze faixas, na qual destaca tanto a parte lírica (temática política/social, anti-sistema e pró-direito dos animais, por exemplo), quanto na parte anti-musical (perfeitamente chamada de Extreme Noise Terror). É até difícil escolher qual é o som mais massa deste registro e imagino que muitos crusties, grinders e punks tem essa mesma ideia, mas é impossível falar sobre este álbum e não citar "Deceived", "Take The Strain", "Conned Through Life", "We The Helpless" (cover da Kuro), "Innocence To Ignorance", "Use Your Mind" ("[...] What do expect to change with an 'X' on your hand?"), "Another Nail In The Coffin", "Rapping The Earth" e "Bullshit Propaganda" (muito difundida pela Ratos de Porão nos anos 90). As vinhetas introduzidas nesta gravação são únicas (nas outras versões que eu tive a oportunidade de escutar elas foram retiradas) e são de filmes considerados cult hoje em dia como Street Trash (faixas "Take The Strain" e "Conned Through Life") e Scarface (faixa "Murder"). A Holocaust In Your Head tem as suas particularidades, pois existem outras gravações diferentes deste álbum com a ordem dos sons diferentes da original, além de faixas bônus na versão em CD. Em suma, um dos álbuns mais barulhentos e revoltosos de todos os tempos e finalizo essa revisão com as palavras da última faixa da versão original: "If you're only in it for the music. Vomitus was a band that was active from 1995 to 1998 in the Arizona desert. Pulse In The Dirt... was released in 2019 and contains the first demo from 1996 and the previously unreleased material called A Galaxy of Thought from 1997. Twenty six grindcore/crustcore tracks fed by the desert heat.

Vomitus foi uma banda que esteve em atividade nos anos de 1995 a 1998 no deserto do Arizona. Pulse In The Dirt... foi lançado em 2019 e contém a primeira demo de 1996 e o material inédito e nunca lançado  A Galaxy of Thought de 1997. Vinte seis faixas grindcore/crustcore alimentadas pelo calor do deserto.

Ihtiriekko é uma nova banda finlandesa composta por membros da Ryhtiliike e este registro auto-intitulado é o primeiro lançamento da banda. O som da Ihtiriekko é algo assim: imagine a Kuolema com uma guitarra com timbre semelhantes ao das bandas de black metal. Pois então, esse tipo caos e destruição maligna é o que inserido nas seis faixas desde registro. Muito bom!

As described by Not Enough's Bandcamp, this split celebrates the tour of these two bands. So, Crutches and Kontrasosial released this destructive split in 2019. With eight tracks, Crutches promotes chaos and noise in the vein of previous records and that's very good. Also featuring eight tracks, Kontrasosial performs with more powerful and metallic sounds than the EP Filthy Scum (also released in 2019). Nice!

De acordo com a descrição do Bandcamp da Not Enough, esse split celebra os companheiros de turnê dessas duas bandas. Dessa forma, Crutches e Kontrasosial lançaram esse split destruidor em 2019. Com oito faixas, a Crutches promove o caos e o barulho na veia dos registros anteriores e isso é muito bom. Também com oito faixas, a Kontrasosial se apresenta com sons mais poderosos e metálicos que o EP Filthy Scum (também lançado em 2019). Massa!

Mass Grave and Unholy Grave are two heavyweights of rot and musical destruction and they joined forces to launch this split. As always making a brilliant sound, Mass Grave needs no comments on its eight grind 'n crust tracks. Regarding Unholy Grave, I didn't have the opportunity to hear your music, unfortunately. The cover art is fucking great, but I don't know who made it.

Mass Grave e Unholy Grave são dois pesos-pesados da podridão e destruição musical, na qual uniram forças para lançamento desse split. Como sempre fazendo uma brilhante barulheira, a Mass Grave dispensa comentários nas suas oito faixas grind 'n crust. Com relação ao Unholy Grave, eu não tive a oportunidade de escutar os seus sons, infelizmente. A capa que ficou animal pra caralho, mas eu não sei quem fez.

HELLRIPPER - BLACK ARTS & ALCHEMY

Hellripper's first album was marked by a strong influence from Kill 'Em All (Metallica's first album) and Venom. In Black Arts & Alchemy, the 2019 EP, Metallica's influence is not as evident compared to Coagulating Darkness, but still remains. This EP sounds more metal punk, something like a cross between Toxic Holocaust and Midnight. Cool!

O primeiro álbum da Hellripper ficou marcado por uma forte influência de Kill 'Em All (primeiro álbum da Metallica) e Venom. Já em Black Arts & Alchemy, o EP de 2019, a influência da Metallica não está tão evidente em comparação ao Coagulating Darkness, mas ainda permanece. Esse EP soa mais metal punk, algo como um cruzamento de Toxic Holocaust e Midnight. Da hora!

Vltimas is an international super group formed by David Vincent (vocals - ex-Morbid Angel and ex-Genitorturers), Flo Mounier (drums - Cryptopsy and ex-Nader Sadek) and Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen (guitars - Aura Noir, ex-Mayhem and ex-Nader Sadek). With these guys together, you can assume there will be good stuff involved. Well, Something Wicked Marches In is the band's debut album and it was really good. Also, Blasphemer is responsible for the nine compositions on the album, because the sound of his guitars is very characteristic (own signature), it is reminiscent of his work at Mayhem in the past (for first-time sailors, he recorded the following albums: Grand Declaration of War, Chimera and Ordo ad Chao). Of course, Drummer Flo did a very good job (the drums stand out a lot), also David sings very well (he was responsible for the lyrics) and his performance on this album is superior to his last album recorded with Morbid Angel, the unattractive and unenthusiastic Illud Divinum Insanus. Id like to highlight the tracks "Something Wicked Marches In", "Praevalidus", "Total Destroy!", "Truth and Consequence" and "Last Ones Alive Win Nothing". The cover art with many details was made by Zbigniew Bielak. So, if you like black/death metal, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy and especially Mayhem, be sure to check out this album, as you will surely enjoy Vltimas.

Bem, Something Wicked Marches In é o álbum de estréia da banda e ficou realmente bom. Até porque, quem dita as regras nas nove faixas que compõem o álbum é o Blasphemer, pois a sua guitarra tem um som bem característico (assinatura própria), lembrando em determinados momentos o seu trabalho na Mayhem no passado (para os marinheiros de primeira viagem, ele gravou os seguintes álbuns: Grand Declaration of War, Chimera e Ordo ad Chao). Claro, o baterista Flo fez um digníssimo trabalho (a bateria se destaca bastante), além do próprio David, que está cantando massa (ele foi o responsável pelas letras) e a sua performance neste álbum está superior em seu último álbum gravado com a Morbid Angel, o não atraente e sem empolgação Illud Divinum Insanus. Destaque para as faixas "Something Wicked Marches In", "Praevalidus", "Total Destroy!", "Truth and Consequence" e "Last Ones Alive Win Nothing". A capa rica de detalhes foi feita por Zbigniew Bielak. Então, se você gosta de black/death metal, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy e principalmente Mayhem, não deixe de conferir este álbum, pois certamente tu vai gostar das Vltimas.

Haavat is a new English hardcore/punk band made up of members of Deviated Instinct, Agnosy, Viha and Revulsion. This is Havaat's first demo consisting of nine tracks sung in Finnish by a woman (Katri of Viha). This is a good demo and will really please those who enjoy Havaat members' bands, Finnish and English hardcore/punk. Haavat é uma nova banda hardcore/punk inglesa composta por membros da Deviated Instinct, Agnosy, Viha e Revulsion. Esta é a primeira demo da Havaat que é composta por nove faixas cantadas em finlandês por um vocal feminino (Katri da Viha). Essa demo é boa e vai agradar bastante quem curte as bandas dos membros da Havaat, hardcore/punk finlandês e inglês. A capa ficou por conta de Mid (Deviated Instinct). Following the acclaim of the underground audience worldwide with Grim Visions of Battle in 2013, Swordwielder released its second attack called System Overlord in August 2019. Continuing with the same influences as the first record, similar to crust performed by the pioneer bands of the English scene in the 80's like Axegrinder, Antisect, Amebix and Deviated Instinct, System Overlord is a heavy, powerful, filthy, dark, apocalyptic album and essentially crust. System Overlord is much better than the previous record. Composed of nine tracks, those with the most addictive sounds are"Violent Revolution", "Absolute Fear" (right in Axegrinder line), "Nuclear Winter", "Cyborgs" (closer to Antisect, musically), "Corrupt Future" and "Northern Light". To conclude, Swordwielder is one of the most interesting bands of this new generation stenchcore/crust and System Overlord is a great fucking album, one of my 2019 favorites.

Depois da boa aclamação do público underground mundo afora com Grim Visions of Battle de 2013, a Swordwielder lançou em agosto de 2019 o seu segundo ataque chamado System Overlord. Seguindo com as mesmas influências do primeiro registro, isto é, aquele crust executado pelas bandas pioneiras da cena inglesa nos anos 80 como Axegrinder, Antisect, Amebix e Deviated Instinct, System Overlord é um álbum pesado, poderoso, sujo, sombrio, apocalíptico e essencialmente crust, além do mais, System Overlord é muito melhor que o registro anterior. Composto por nove faixas, destaco os sons mais viciantes que são "Violent Revolution", "Absolute Fear" (bem na linha Axegrinder), "Nuclear Winter", "Cyborgs" (mais próxima da Antisect, musicalmente), "Corrupt Future" e "Northern Light". Para concluir, Swordwielder é uma das bandas mais interessantes dessa nova geração stenchcore/crust e System Overlord é um disco fodido pra caralho, sendo um dos meus favoritos de 2019.

BESTA - ETERNO RANCOR

Released in 2019, Eterno Rancor is Besta's new album and is ultra brutal and fast, as one might expect from a grindcore band. Eterno Rancor revolves around twenty minutes of destruction, it has sixteen tracks all of which are in Portuguese, except for the cover song of Bad Brains (which was very well done by the way). From this description, the reader must imagine an ordinary and unvarying album, something commonly called more of the same. But it is wrong to say this, because Eterno Rancor is a very heterogeneous album, in the sense of guitar riffs, rhythms of musical destruction (drum tempo, for example) and vocals (many types of vocals, without sounding linear all the time), and the producing of this record, that is the best of Besta's career. All these features make Eterno Rancor a simply killer album. The great cover art was made by Marco Donida. To conclude, I will translate a sentence from the Portuguese site Ultraje into a post about Besta in late 2018: "Eternal Rancor is a socially conscious record coming from four guys that feed on pulverizing and fracturing punk/grindcore, distorted landscapes and honesty". No more words, this is awesome!

Lançado em 2019, Eterno Rancor é o novo álbum da Besta e está ultra brutal e rápido, como deve se esperar de uma banda de grindcore. Eterno Rancor gira em torno de vinte minutos de destruição, na qual possui dezesseis faixas, quinze delas berradas em português, exceto o cover da Bad Brains (que ficou muito bem feito por sinal). A partir desta descrição, o leitor deve imaginar um álbum reto e sem variações, algo comumente chamado de mais do mesmo. Porém é errado afirmar isto, pois Eterno Rancor é um álbum bastante heterogêneo, no sentido dos riffs, ritmos das destruições musicais (andamento da bateria, por exemplo) e vocais (muitos tipos de vocais, sem soar linear o tempo todo), além da produção do registro, que é o melhor da Besta em sua carreira. Todas essas características fazem de Eterno Rancor um álbum simplesmente matador. A genial arte de capa foi feita por Marco Donida. Para concluir, eu vou usar uma frase do site português Ultraje em uma postagem sobre a Besta no final de 2018: "Eterno Rancor é um disco socialmente consciente vindo de quatro tipos que se alimentam de punk/grindcore pulverizador e fracturante, paisagens distorcidas e honestidade". Sem mais, bom pra caralho!
