Esse é o disco que encerra a carreira brilhante da Cathedral. "The Last Spire" foi lançado em 2013 e é um disco muito bom, onde o doom metal se alia a pegada rock pesado anos 70. O álbum começa com uma intro com grasnadas de corvos, ventos e sinos de igrejas que logo da início "Pallbearer", uma música longa, cadenciada e pesada, que no meio ganha uma linda parte acústica e se torna novamente metal. "Cathedral of the Damned", canção mágica e maligna com um bom solo de guitarra. "Tower of Silence", música foda em que vídeo clipe já diz tudo. "Infestation of Grey Death", faixa cheia de peso e com clima bem macabro e melancólico. "An Observation" já vem com a vibração da faixa anterior e segue-se assim por um bom período até que para e começa aquele som bem anos 70, tipo Deep Purple. Risadas surgem e tem o nome de "The Last Laugh", faixa instrumental. O álbum se encerra com a música "This Body, Thy Womb", faixa bem pesada, cadenciada e também com uma bela parte acústica. Um disco muito bom que da vontade de ouvir de novo assim que acaba. Partindo da idéia que a Cathedral acabou, Lee Dorrian & Cia. encerram com chave de ouro. Valeu, caras!
This is the album that ends the brilliant career of Cathedral. "The Last Spire" was released in 2013 and is a very good record, where doom metal joins the 70's heavy rock vibe. The album begins with an intro with crows' chants, winds and church bells to start "Pallbearer", a long, cadenced and heavy song that in the middle gains a beautiful acoustic part and becomes metal again. "Cathedral of the Damned", a magical and evil song with a good guitar solo. "Tower of Silence", is a great song and the video clip says it all. "Infestation of Gray Death", is a very heavy track with a very macabre and melancholic mood. "An Observation" has the same vibration as the previous track and goes on for a good period until it stops and starts that 70's sound, like Deep Purple. Laughter appears in the speakers and the name of it is "The Last Laugh", an instrumental track. The album closes with the song "This Body, Thy Womb", a very heavy track, cadenced and also with a beautiful acoustic part. Starting from the idea that Cathedral is over, Lee Dorrian & Co. closes with a golden key. Thanks guys!
