WARWOUND - BURNING THE BLINDFOLDS OF BIGOTS

Formada em 1982 e reformulada em 2015 pelo fundador e guitarrista Damien Thompson (Sacrilege, ex-Varukers), a Warwound voltou com uma nova formação composta por músicos veteranos e experientes como Rat (vocal - Varukers, The Vile, Arbitrater, ex-Discharge), Ian Glasper (baixo - Decadence Within, Flux of Pink Indians, Freebase, Thirty Six Strategies), Stevie Wingroven (bateria - The Vile, ex-Hellkrusher) e criaram um álbum realmente explosivo. Quando eu assisti o vídeo da Warwound no Obscene Extreme Festival eu fui a loucura e a minha expectativa para ouvir um registro de estúdio era enorme, pois a apresentação da banda foi sensacional, pura energia, além do mais, as músicas tocadas foram covers da Varukers e Sacrilege, foda! "Burning The Blindfolds Of Bigots" é o primeiro álbum da Warwound e o som é diferente das primeiras demos. Na minha opinião está melhor, em razão de que as músicas tem maior poder de impacto, estão mais pesadas, agressivas e com variação entre a velocidade e cadência, em outras palavras, um mistura perfeita entre hardcore/punk e thrash metal. Devo também dizer que Rat está cantando realmente de forma furiosa, uma performance única. O baterista Stevie também merece destaque, já que as suas batidas e pedais duplos são poderosos, aliados ao baixo marcante de Ian, que está bastante presente nas faixas. E é claro, os riffs pesados e cortantes executados por Damien, ditando todo ritmo do caos para a violência sonora. As minhas faixas favoritas são "World Gone Crazy", "Scenebullshitdotcom", "Already Judged", "Silence In The House Of God", "Engrossed In The Killing", "Same Shit Different Day", "The Closing Irony" (Sacrilege cover - participação especial de Lynda "Tam" Hughes) e "Let The Truth Speak". A arte de capa é mais outro brilhante trabalho de Andy Lefton (War//Plague e Tau Cross). Cara, esse álbum é bom pra caralho! Repetindo o que foi dito em outras resenhas: um dos melhores registros de 2017.

When I watched a Warwound videoclip at Obscene Extreme Festival I was very excited and my expectation for listening to a studio record was enormous, because the band's presentation was sensational, pure energy and the songs were covers of Varukers and Sacrilege. "Burning The Blindfolds Of Bigots" is Warwound's first album and the sound is different from the first demos. In my opinion, this record is better, because the music has greater impact power, heavier, more aggressive and has variation between speed and cadence. I must also say that Rat is singing furiously, a unique performance. The drummer Stevie also deserves attention, since his beats and double pedals are powerful, allied with the bass of Ian that is quite present in the tracks. Of course, the heavy guitar riffs cutting like a knife is executed by Damien, he dictates the whole rhythm of chaos for sound violence. My favorite tracks are "World Gone Crazy", "Scenebullshitdotcom", "Already Judged", "Silence In The House Of God", "Engrossed In The Killing", "Same Shit Different Day", "The Closing Irony" (Sacrilege cover - with special guest Lynda "Tam" Hughes) and "Let The Truth Speak". The cover art is another brilliant piece done by Andy Lefton (War//Plague and Tau Cross). Man, this album is fucking awesome! To repeat what I have written in other reviews: one of the best records of 2017.
