FEMACOFFIN - DEMO 2013

Femacoffin é uma nova banda de Oakland e em sua formação contém nada menos que membros da Sanctum (Nick) e Stormcrow (Tony e Brian), além do baterista Brent. O barulho feito por eles nessa demo é um crust totalmente voltado pro death metal cavernoso, algo bem similar feito em suas bandas anteriores, que diga-se de passagem são bem fodas. Esse material de 2013 contém cinco sons e me agradou bastante. Quem curte crust, death metal e som podre em geral vai se amarrar também. Curiosidade: FEMA (Agência Federal de Gerenciamento de Emergência) coffin são aqueles caixões pretos de plástico que o governo dos E.U.A. colocou em áreas desertas.

Femacoffin is a new band from Oakland and its formation contains no less than members of the Sanctum (Nick) and Stormcrow (Tony and Brian), and the drummer Brent. The noise made by them in this demo is crust, totally influenced by cavernous death metal, something very similar done in their previous bands that are also great. This demo contains five songs and pleased me greatly. Who likes crust, death metal and rotten music in general will like it too. Curiosity: FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) coffin are those black plastic coffins that the U.S.A. government put in deserted areas.

FUCK THE FACTS - AMER

Que EP foda! Tinha um bom tempo que eu não escutava Fuck The Facts e sem querer isso foi bom, pois estou escutando com bastante gosto este material. "Amer" tem sete sons grindcore que se mesclam com o death metal, onde a estrutura das músicas estão muito bem elaboradas, com bons riffs de guitarra e blast beats. As letras e títulos das canções desse EP são em francês, exceto "Void". Pra finalizar, Mel Mongeon berrando como nunca.

This EP is great! I was not listening to Fuck The Facts for a long time and it was good, because I'm quite listening to this stuff. "Amer" has seven grindcore tracks mixed with death metal, where the structure of the songs are very well prepared, with good guitar riffs and blast beats. The lyrics and song titles of this EP are in French except "Void". To conclude, Mel Mongeon screaming as ever.

Desde quando os portugueses lançaram a sua primeira demo em 2008, eu percebi que eles eram uma banda fora do comum, pois o som dos caras era extremamente muito animal e bem mais foda que as bandas que surgiram nessa mesma época. Em 2013 a Utopium lançou "Vicious Consolation/Virtuous Totality", álbum altamente brutal e destruidor, onde o grindcore se mescla com o crustcore e o sludge, sendo este um dos melhores discos do ano passado sem sombra de dúvida. Dezoito faixas viciantes que te fará dar o play várias vezes. Escute essa porra e comprove!

When the Portuguese launched their first demo in 2008, I realized that they were a band out of the ordinary, because the sound made by these guys was extremely brutal and and much better than the bands that emerged at that time. In 2013 the Utopium released "Consolation Vicious/Virtuous Totality", highly brutal and smash album, which blends grindcore with crustcore and sludge, which is one of the best albums of last year without a doubt. NILE - AT THE GATE OF SETHU

A Nile é uma banda que eu gosto mais de suas letras do que do som em si, pois relata as lendas do antigo Egito e tal, porém o som é foda pra caralho também. Esse álbum segue a mesma linha, ou seja, brutal death metal ala Morbid Angel (R.I.P.). Muito bom esse álbum e essa arte da capa ficou demais.

Nile is a band that I like most of his lyrics than the music itself, because the words relate the legends of ancient Egypt but the musicality made by them is brutal. This album follows the same line, ie, brutal death metal ala Morbid Angel (R.I.P.). Very good this album and this cover art is sensational.

Offal é mais outra banda massa que se apresentou no festival Exhale The Sound em 2015, na qual fizeram um show foda. Claro, eu estava presente e curti o show pra caralho. "Horrorfiend" é o seu álbum lançado em 2015 e contém todas as características dessa apresentação marcante, ou seja, música pesada, bate cabeça, sangue e suor. Todas as faixas são muito boas, mas eu destaco "Heinous Orgy of Rabid Consuming (Dawn of Sadus)" como a música mais massa desse álbum (a introdução... cara, isso é viagem de cola). Se você gosta de death metal (principalmente bandas americanas) e, sobretudo Autopsy, certamente vai curti a Offal. Sem dúvida um dos melhores lançamentos de 2015. 

Offal is yet another good band that played at Exhale The Sound festival in 2015, which the band did a great show. Of course, I was present and enjoy this show. "Horrorfiend" is the album that was released in 2015 and contains all the features of this remarkable presentation, ie, heavy music, headbanging, blood and sweat. All tracks are very good, but I emphasize "Heinous Orgy of Rabid Consuming (Dawn of Sadus)" as the most supreme music of this album (the intro... man, that's glue trip). If you like death metal (mainly American bands), and especially Autopsy, you will surely enjoy Offal. Undoubtedly one of the best 2015 releases.

Hoje eu tive uma grata surpresa no Facebook, quando Jack Control postou um link do debut álbum da Butcher para audição/download e estou aqui para compartilhar isso com vocês. Antes de escutar o álbum completo, eu tinha ouvido "Dawn Breaks" e "The Top Of The Mountain" e gostei bastante dessas músicas, pois essas faixas tinham um pique ala World Burns To Death e de fato o álbum segue essa linha, ao contrário de algumas informações da internet dizendo que este registro era industrial. Independente disso, "Holding Back The Night" é um álbum totalmente hardcore, cheio de energia e agressividade, onde vai agradar os admiradores da World Burns To Death, além de pessoas que gostam de hardcore em geral (principalmente as bandas japonesas). As minhas músicas favoritas desse registro são "In The Midst Of A Storm", "Dawn Breaks", "A Breath Of Wind", "The Top Of The Mountain" e "Summer Grasses". Vale lembrar que "Holding Back The Night" foi gravado no Sonic Ranch Studios (Cannibal Corpse e Ministry já gravaram também neste estúdio), mixado e masterizado no Enormous Door Studios (Jack Control é o proprietário desse estúdio). A arte de capa está ótima e foi feita pelo Tomohiro Matsuda. Enfim, este álbum está muito bom! Ah, para você ouvir este registro basta acessar a homepage da banda no link abaixo. 

Today I had a pleasant surprise in my timeline on Facebook, because Jack Control posted the debut album Butcher for listening/downloading and I am here to share this with you. Before listening to the whole album, I had heard "Dawn Breaks" and "The Top Of The Mountain" and I liked a lot of the songs, because these songs sounded like World Burns To Death and indeed the album follows this line, unlike some information from the internet saying that this record was industrial. Regardless, "Holding Back The Night" is a fully hardcore album, full of energy and aggressiveness, which will please admirers of World Burns To Death and people who like hardcore in general (especially Japanese bands). My favorite songs on this record are "In The Midst Of The Storm", "Dawn Breaks", "A Breath Of Wind", "The Top Of The Mountain" and "Summer Grasses". Remember that "Holding Back The Night" was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios (Cannibal Corpse and Ministry recorded albums in the same studio), mixed and mastered at Enormous Door Studios (Jack Control is the owner of the studio). The cover art is great and it is a work done by Tomohiro Matsuda. Anyway, this album is very good! Oh, for you to listen to this record simply access the homepage of the band on the link below.

PMMA - SEROTONIN SYNDROME

Quando eu escrevi a primeira resenha da PMMA eu disse que eles eram influenciados por Misfits, Damned e Rudimentary Peni. Pois bem, de fato essas influências permanecem no som da banda, porém neste álbum as músicas estão mais tóxicas e com uma vibração mais das trevas, definindo assim uma característica própria. Músicas como "Serotonin Syndrome" e "Pill Poppin" são bons exemplos dessa dinâmica. "Serotonin Syndrome" é um álbum bom, que te faz voltar no tempo em alguns momentos, mais precisamente nos anos 80, entretanto com a loucura psicodélica atual. Com relação à loucura e psicodelia, tanto o nome da banda como o título do álbum estão relacionado ao consumo de drogas. Dessa forma, escute agora "Serotonin Syndrome" e seja mais um viciado. Yeah!!!

When I wrote the first review of PMMA I said they were influenced by Misfits, Damned and Rudimentary Peni. Well, actually these influences remain in the sound of the band, but this album the songs are more toxic and with a dark vibration, thus defining their own characteristics. Songs like "Serotonin Syndrome" and "Pill Poppin" are good examples of this dynamic. "Serotonin Syndrome" is a good album that makes you go back in time at times, more precisely in the 80s, but with the current psychedelic madness. Regarding the madness and psychedelia, the band's name as the album title are related to drug use. Thus, listen now "Serotonin Syndrome" and becomes an addict. Yeah!!!

"13" é o álbum lançado em 2013 com 3/4 dos membros da Black Sabbath, pois Bill Ward não participa. Eu gostei do resultado desse disco, pois eu esperava muito menos, ou seja, me surpreendeu. Escutando bastante, eu notei que em alguns momentos lembram os álbuns da carreira solo do Ozzy nos anos 90 (sem as firulas do Zakk Wylde) e em outros bem Black Sabbath mesmo. Independente disso, músicas muito fodas foram feitas para esse trabalho, como, "End of the Beginning" com excelentes guitarras de Tony Iommi; "God is Dead?" a primeira faixa ouvida e com grande destaque pra Geezer Butler; "Zeitgeist" faixa suave e acústica, lembrando bastante "Planet Caravan"; "Damaged Soul" faixa bem ao estilo sabbatiano e "Dear Father" com os riffs mais pesados desse álbum. "13" está massa e Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine) fez o que tinha que fazer sem criar moda.

"13" is the album released in 2013 with 3/4 of the members of Black Sabbath, because Bill Ward did not participate in the recordings. I liked the result of this album because I expected much less, ie, this record surprised me. I heard a lot this record and I noticed that at times the songs remind albums rather made by Ozzy in the 90s (without the frills of Zakk Wylde) and other times the songs are in the Black Sabbath style. Regardless, good songs were made for this work, as "End of the Beginning" with great guitars performed by Tony Iommi; "God is Dead?" the first track heard by me and with great emphasis to Geezer Butler; "Zeitgeist" a relaxing and acoustic track, remembering quite "Planet Caravan"; "Damaged Soul" is a track in the Black Sabbath style and "Dear Father" with the heaviest riffs of this album. "13" is a cool album and Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine) did what had to be done.

Isso! "Skull Grinder" é o EP de 2015 lançado pela Autopsy e está ótimo. Claro, a Autopsy nunca nos decepciona. "Skull Grinder" usa a mesma fórmula mortífera dos registros anteriores, ou seja, uma das características e poderes da Autopsy. Todas as faixas são ótimas, mas a minha música favorita é "Children of the Filth", puta som foda! Para completar essa obra prima do death metal, Wes Benscoter foi o autor dessa brilhante capa (ok, é clichê mas foda-se!). Sem dúvida esse EP vai moer o seu crânio. Excelente! 

Yeah! "Skull Grinder" is the EP released by Autopsy in 2015 and is great. Of course, Autopsy never disappoint his admirers. "Skull Grinder" uses the same deadly formula of previous records, ie, one of the characteristics and powers of Autopsy. All tracks are great, but my favorite song is "Children of the Filth", badass track! To complete this masterpiece of death metal, Wes Benscoter is the author of this brilliant cover art (ok, it's cliche but fuck it!). No doubt this EP will grind his skull. Excellent!

Eu conheci a Striborg através de uma música chamada "Sin Nanna" lançada pela Sunn O))) em 2005 (álbum "Black One"). Claro, Sin Nanna é o homem responsável pela Striborg. E quando eu escutei a Striborg eu percebi uma grande semelhança com a Xasthur (coincidência a parte, Malefic é um dos convidados especiais neste álbum lançado pela Sunn O))) em 2005). Ok, "This Suffocating Existence" foi lançado em 2015 e é álbum bem minimalista, onde o black metal feito por Sin Nanna é drasticamente mórbido e melancólico. Oito faixas que relatam a noite, a misantropia, as florestas, as depressões e a morte. Indicado para admiradores da Xasthur e depressive suicidal black metal. 

I discovered Striborg through a song called "Sin Nanna" released by Sunn O))) in 2005 ("Black One" album). Of course, Sin Nanna is the man responsible for this one man band called Striborg. When I listened to Striborg I noticed a great similarity to Xasthur (coincidence aside, Malefic is one of the special guests on this album released by Sunn O))) in 2005). Ok, "This Suffocating Existence" was released in 2015 and is very minimalist album, where the black metal made by Sin Nanna is dramatically morbid and melancholy. Eight tracks that report the night, misanthropy, forests, depression and death. This is indicated for admirers of Xasthur and depressive suicidal black metal.

HUMAN HOST BODY - SEVERE COLLAPSE

Ao escutar pela primeira vez essa banda em 2014, eu realmente gostei do som feito por eles e principalmente do conteúdo lírico. Em 2015 a Human Host Body lançou o seu primeiro full-length, da qual contém as quatro faixas da demo lançada em 2013, porém neste registro elas foram regravadas. "Severe Collapse" é um álbum agressivo e furioso em todos os aspectos, seja na forma de criar os barulhos ou na forma de vociferar as palavras de rebelião contra os meios que sustentam a civilização. Se você se identifica com os autores John Zerzan e Theodore Kaczynski e com a musicalidade do death metal, certamente você vai gostar deles. A Human Host Body merece a sua atenção, pois eles são realmente uma banda de protesto (confira as letras), da qual eles vivem e praticam aquilo que dizem. Enfim, excelente álbum com atitude! 

When I first heard this band in 2014, I really liked the sound made by them and especially the lyrical content. In 2015 Human Host Body released the first full-length, which contains four demo tracks released in 2013, but this record these tracks were re-recorded. "Severe Collapse" is an aggressive and angry album in every way, whether in the form of noise or in the form of shouting the words of rebellion against the means that sustain civilization. If you identify with the author John Zerzan and Theodore Kaczynski and death metal, surely you will like them. Human Host Body deserves your attention because they are really a protest band (check the lyrics) because they live and do what they say. Anyway, great album with attitude!

Eu me recordo que em 2012 no Viçosa Metal Fest logo após o término do show da Chakal, eu conversei com o Korg sobre esse novo projeto e ele falou muito bem e que estava ansioso para o fim das gravações e tal, pois estava fodido pra caralho. E realmente está muito foda! Thrash metal direto e reto, com muito peso e energia. Esse EP de 2013 auto intitulado consiste em seis porradas, sendo uma mescla sonora das bandas dos outros membros. Quem são os outros membros? Paulo Jr. (Sepultura - baixo), Alan Wallace (Eminence - guitarra), André Márcio (Eminence, ex Oversose - bateria) e os vocais são feitos pelo Vladimir Korg (Chakal, ex The Mist). EP massa pra caralho que já escutei uma renca de vezes hoje. Foda!!!

"What Should Not Be Unearthed" é último álbum lançado pela Nile em 2015. Composto por dez faixas, este álbum segue a mesma linha brutal dos registros anteriores, além das temáticas líricas, ou seja, a Nile continua a mesma. Quando você escutar a música feita pela Phurpa provavelmente você irá estranhar ou ficar surpreso (digo isso para quem não conhece). Pois bem, a Phurpa é música de ritual tradicional, em outras palavras, música tibetana sagrada da tradição Bon, apesar da banda ser russa. A música é experimental e tribal (tambores, vários pratos e chimbais, chifres e conchas são alguns dos instrumentos) e isso é algo já feito a muitos atrás pelos habitantes dessa região da Ásia. Se você já assistiu os documentários "Baraka" e "Samsara", certamente você irá se familiarizar e gostar desse trabalho musical. Uma pessoa que não posso deixar de mencionar é Attila Csihar, pois ele é bastante influenciado pela "rgyud-skad" (voz tântrica) e esse recurso vocal é a maior característica da Phurpa. Realmente esse álbum é muito interessante, embora pode ser cansativo para algumas pessoas (este não é o meu caso). 

When you listen to music made by Phurpa, you will probably be shocked or surprised (I say this to those who have never heard the band). Well, Phurpa is traditional ritual music, in other words, Sacred Tibetan Music of the Bon Tradition, although the band is Russian. The music is experimental and tribal (drums, several rolmo cymbals, horns and shells are some of the instruments) and this is something already done many, many years by the inhabitants of this region of Asia. If you ever watched the documentary "Baraka" and "Samsara", surely you will get acquainted and enjoy this musical work. No doubt a person that I must mention is Attila Csihar, because he is very influenced by "rgyud-skad" (Tantric voice) and this vocal resource is the greatest feature of Phurpa. Actually this album is very interesting, although it can be tiring for some people (this is not my case).
