INFAMOUS GLORY - AN ANCIENT SECT OF DARKNESS

Infamous Gory began their career in the death metal underworld in the early 2000s by releasing the first demos and in 2019, they released An Ancient Sect Of Darkness, the second album. Well, it took me a while to discover Infamous Glory and I got to know its sound through the Exhale The Sound festival that was held in Belo Horizonte in 2014. Some friends from the capital of Minas Gerais told me about a death metal band from São Paulo, in this case, Infamous Glory, and that they made a very interesting sound and that I should listen to this band, because they were going to play at the festival and I didn't know them until then. They (my friends) were right, because the sound made by Infamous Glory is pretty cool and right away, I realized the influences and elements of the Swedish death metal bands that I grew up listening to and that was an important factor for me to start enjoying and following Infamous Glory. Thus, An Ancient Sect Of Darkness still remains with these influences, which is good, but with new elements (English death metal, for example) and with its own characteristics that made this new album more powerful and dark, sounding better than the first full-length, Bloodfeast 2013, which is good too. Of the twelve tracks, the ones that stand out most are "Abysmal Grief", "Your Life Is Mine To Ruin", "Increased Pain", "Sovereign Of Darkness" and "Drowned In Obscurity". The cover art that was made by Pedro Felipe (Ars Moriendee) captures the atmosphere of darkness and terror of the album very well. Anyway, An Ancient Sect Of Darkness is a very good album, one of the releases that stood out in 2019, both in the records of the Brazilian underground and worldwide. Infamous Glory at the time of this post has a new line-up, but those responsible for recording this album were: Kexo (guitars - Abske Fides and Death By Starvation), Augusto (guitars), Leandro (vocals), Dx Schuch (bass) and Piza (drums).

O Infamous Gory começou a sua carreira no submundo do death metal no início dos anos 2000 lançando as suas primeiras demos e em 2019, eles lançaram An Ancient Sect Of Darkness, o seu segundo álbum. Bom, eu demorei um pouco para descobri o Infamous Glory e conheci o seu som através do festival Exhale The Sound realizado em Belo Horizonte no ano de 2014. Uns amigos da capital mineira me deram idéia de uma banda de death metal de São Paulo, no caso, o Infamous Glory, e que eles faziam um som bem massa e que eu tinha que escutar, porque a banda ía tocar no festival e eu não conhecia-os até então. E eles estavam certos, pois o som feito pelo Infamous Glory é bem foda e de cara, eu percebi as influências e os elementos das bandas de death metal sueco que eu cresci ouvindo e isso foi um fator importante para eu começar a curtir e seguir o Infamous Glory. Dessa forma, An Ancient Sect Of Darkness ainda permace com essas influências, o que é bom, porém com novos influxos (death metal inglês, por exemplo) e características próprias que deixaram este novo álbum mais poderoso e sombrio, soando melhor que o primeiro full-length, Bloodfeast de 2013, que é bom também. Das doze faixas, as que mais se destacam são "Abysmal Grief", "Your Life Is Mine To Ruin", "Increased Pain", "Sovereign Of Darkness" e "Drowned In Obscurity". A capa que foi feita pelo Pedro Felipe (Ars Moriendee) capta muito bem a atmosfera de trevas e terror do álbum. Enfim, An Ancient Sect Of Darkness é um álbum muito bom, que se destaca entre os lançamentos de 2019, tanto nos registros do underground brasileiro quanto mundial. O Infamous Glory no momento desta postagem se encontra com uma nova formação, mas os responsáveis pela gravação deste álbum foram:  Kexo (guitarra - Abske Fides e Death By Starvation) Augusto (guitarra), Leandro (vocal) Dx Schuch (baixo) Piza (bateria).
