ANTISECT - THE RISING OF THE LIGHTS
After 34 years, Antisect released a new album, although the band released an EP in 2011, which marked the return of Antisect to the stage. I remember the euphoria this brought the fans. Well, "The Rising Of The Lights" was released in 2017 and this euphoria has turned into disappointment for many people (I still had not listened to the album, but I read several negative comments on Facebook). Ok, I listened to the album several times and I liked it. With only Pete Lyons from the original line-up, "The Rising Of The Lights" is a heavy, contemporary and well-produced album, there is a great similarity to Amebix's latest album "Sonic Mass", including the sound of bands such as Killing Joke, Motörhead and Sepultura. Obviously, "The Rising Of The Lights" is a very different album from "In Darkness, There Is No Choice", but it is still a cool record. Remember that this was released by Rise Above Records (Lee Dorrian is owner of the label). Anyway, it's worth listening to! Antisect: Pete Lyons (vocals/guitars), Joe Burwood (drums) and John Bryson (bass).
