01 - Entre julho e setembro de 2012 a Homicide terminou o processo de gravação do novo álbum. Como foi trabalhar com Alexei Leão? Gostaram do resultado final?
Primeiramente, valeu demais Mixel pelo espaço e pelo apoio à Homicide. É sempre uma experiência legal gravar com o Alexei. Ele tem uma noção muito ampla do que precisa ser feito em um som extremo e tem muita experiência, o que ajuda muito. Pedimos ajustes nas músicas, e ele faz exatamente como queremos, e desde o primeiro passo até o último, ele é muito atencioso e nos deixa muito a vontade. Parece que ele faz parte da banda de tanta química que rola. A gravação foi um processo muito rápido, tínhamos um acordo com os selos e tivemos que apressar o processo, e o Alexei nos ajudou bastante dando prioridade a nossa pressa. Já conhecíamos o trabalho dele em outros projetos que já gravamos lá, e quando resolvemos gravar com a Homicide, tínhamos certeza que seria ele que conseguiria chegar ao resultado final que queríamos. Gostamos bastante e acho que o pessoal que curte a banda gostou também. Estamos satisfeitos.
02 - A capa desse novo álbum é brilhante e condiz perfeitamente com o título. Como surgiu o contato com Takashi Kawasaki?
Conhecemos o Takashi através de um trampo que ele fez pro selo Razorback Records. Ali já piramos demais no traço dele, e depois de ver mais um desenho que ele fez pra banda Coffins do Japão, tivemos a certeza que queríamos um desenho dele pro nosso álbum. Então entramos em contato com ele e na hora ele disse: “eu quero fazer o desenho do álbum de vocês!”Aí fechou! Conversamos sobre a idéia do desenho, do titulo que o álbum teria, e o resultado é esse desenho brutal! O Takashi é talentoso demais e com certeza uma grande promessa pros próximos anos.
03 - É Tudo Sobre A Informação é o vídeo clipe oficial da Homicide e ele foi editado por Calone M. Hoffmann. Como foi a realização desse clipe? Foi fácil?
Não precisamos mais que uma câmera e um pouco de criatividade para fazê-lo. Esse clip foi feito de uma forma “tosca”, mas com uma idéia profissional. Nós mesmos fizemos as filmagens, e o Calone (amigo nosso) se dispôs a fazer toda edição, e foi a edição que deixou o clip legal. Foi muito fácil e rápido.
04 - As letras do novo álbum são todas em português (exceto o cover da Napalm Death) e elas são bem ácidas e bem feitas, ou seja, bem realistas. De que formas são feitas as letras? Em conjunto? É mais fácil criar as letras em português ou em inglês?
As letras são feitas individualmente, porém, todos opinam e incluem ou modificam o que quiserem. O foco das letras geralmente ataca a religião, a política e a sociedade. O Diego, com base nos temas, relata de forma a questionar o ponto fraco do que será abordado. O Marlon compõe agressividade, exalando ódio a cada frase, atacando a fútil imagem dos temas. O Sommer retrata a regressão da humanidade, com base no que os leva a tal decadência. Geralmente é assim pois esse é o estilo de cada um escrever. Fazer letras em português é de certa forma um pouco mais difícil do que o inglês, pois os temas que abordamos, abordamos de forma bem agressiva, e tentamos retratar da forma mais idêntica possível.
05 - O Que O Cerca Está Morto é um álbum extremamente brutal, pesado, rápido e agressivo. Sendo essas as características da Homicide. Tanto que esse novo álbum é superior ao álbum anterior Total Decay. Pra vocês quais as diferenças entre os dois álbuns?
O Total Decay é uma demo gravada em 2007. As idéias da banda eram um tanto diferentes das de hoje. Éramos em outra formação, letras em inglês, sons mais compridos, tínhamos bastante influência de Death Metal. Com a formação atual, naturalmente o som ficou mais rápido e mais Grindcore raiz mesmo. Saímos um pouco do metal, colocamos mais Hardcore Crust e buscamos fazer músicas mais curtas, botando mais bases e informação em um curto espaço de tempo.
06 - Como surgiu a participação do Cristiano (Bandanos/Necromaster) e do Thiago (D.E.R.) na música A Lei Da Obrigação?
Eu (Sommer) sou amigo do Cris há algum tempo e sempre quis contar com a participação dele em algum dos meus projetos. Pra esse álbum da Homicide também queríamos algum “aperitivo” e decidimos que chamaríamos alguém pra gravar uma participação em algum som, e o Cris me veio na cabeça na hora. Ele aceitou gravar e disse que ia chamar o Thiago D.E.R. pra gravarem juntos. Quando ele me falou isso eu pirei demais, pois o D.E.R. é pra mim uma das melhores bandas de Grind do mundo. Aí foi só escolher a música e esperar esses doidos gravarem. O resultado ficou incrível, e A Lei da Obrigação é um dos melhores momentos do álbum sem dúvidas, pois a Homicide faz apenas o instrumental do som, ficando os vocais completamente por parte do Cris e do Thiago.
07 - E os shows? A Homicide até tocou no segundo semestre de 2012 em São Paulo. Tem rolado convites pra tocar em outros estados?
Tem rolado muitos convites, principalmente do pessoal de Porto Alegre que é aonde será o nosso primeiro role de 2013. Recebemos convites até para tocar no nordeste e em diversos outros lugares do país e esperamos poder tocar em cada canto o quanto antes.
08 - Sommer, existe diferença entre a cena gaúcha e catarinense?
Existe sim, e a principal diferença é a questão do público. No RS o público chega mais junto, as gigs geralmente são pequenas, mas são fervorosas! O pessoal é insano quando a banda está tocando e faz cada segundo da gig ser memorável. Em SC o público é um pouco mais reservado e observador. Pelo menos no hardcore/crust punk/grind é assim. Claro que o público aqui agita também, mas há um bom contraste. Mas ambos estados são parecidos na questão de atividades/gigs que acontecem. Sempre tiveram os altos e baixos, e no momento atual, ambos estados estão sendo bastante produtivos com boas bandas trabalhando duro, organizando gigs e lançando material de qualidade.
09 - Pra galera que não manja, quais as bandas massas da Santa Catarina?
As bandas em atividade no momento são bandas de amigos, como Sengaya, Verminoise, Infectai, Antichrist Hooligans, Sin Rejas, Skombrus...
10 - Como vocês ainda sentem tanta fé, quando tudo o que os cerca já está morto?
Conheço essa pergunta, hahaha... Mas não temos fé. Não temos esperança de dias melhores. A humanidade já está morta e agora é só esperar a putrefação. Enquanto isso, caminhamos juntos aos mortos espalhando mais desgraça e destruição!
11 - Pra finalizar o bate papo, quais são os planos pra 2013?
Nosso full length acabou de ser lançado e queremos divulgar ele muito. E apesar de recém termos lançado esse material, já estamos fazendo sons novos pros próximos lançamentos. Agora em janeiro/fevereiro vai sair uma compilação em LP pelo selo Imminent Destruction Records da Inglaterra, onde estaremos participando com um som inédito ao lado de bandas como Warvictims, Kvoteringen, Napalm Raid, Truncheons, Violent Party, Infernoh, etc... E um pouco mais pra frente irá sair outro material em vinil pelo mesmo selo, um split 7” com uma banda muito foda do Japão. Também estamos na correria pra fazer sair a versão em LP do O Que O Cerca Está Morto.
Então 2013 é isso. Ensaiar, compor, gravar e espalhar a desgraça sonora aonde conseguirmos!

Homicide is a power trio Grindcore from Santa Catarina and 2012 the band released their full length called O Que O Cerca Está Morto, which is the best album made in Brazil last year. In this chat we know a little about the band, album details and plans for the future.
01 - Between july and september 2012 the Homicide finished the recording process of the new album. How was working with Alexei Leão? The band liked the end result?
First, thanks Mixel by space and support to Homicide. It's always a cool experience recording with Alexei. He has a very broad notion of what needs to be done in an extreme sound and has a lot of experience, which helps a lot. We asked him for adjustments in the songs and it does exactly as we want, the beginning to the end and he is very caring and makes us very comfortable. Looks like he is part of the band because the chemistry between us. The recording process was very quick and we had an agreement with the labels and we had to rush the process and Alexei helped us quite prioritizing our haste. We already knew his work on other projects we have recorded there and when we decided to record with Homicide we were sure that he would be able to get to the end result we wanted. We like a lot and I think the staff likes the band also liked. We are pleased with the result.
02 - The cover art of this album is brilliant and fits perfectly with the album title. How did born the contact with Takashi Kawasaki?
We know Takashi through a job he did for the Razorback Records. And with that we like much of his work and after seeing another drawing he made for the Coffins from Japan, we have concluded that we wanted a pro drawing him our album. So we contacted him and he said at the time: "I want to do the album cover art the band!"Finished! We talked about the idea of the cover art, that the album title would and the result is this drawing brutal! Takashi is too talented and certainly holds great promise pros coming years.
03 - É Tudo Sobre A Informação is the official video clip of the Homicide and it was edited by Calone M. Hoffmann. How was the realization that clip? Was it easy?
We don't need more than a camera and a little creativity to make it. This clip was done in a more "rude" but with a professional idea. We ourselves did the filming and Calone (our friend) was willing to do all editing and the clip was good because of it. This video clip was very easy and fast.
04 - The lyrics of the new album are all in portuguese language (except the cover song of Napalm Death) and the lyrics are very acidic, well-made, ie, very realistic. In what ways are made in the lyrics? By all members of the band? It is easier to create the lyrics in portuguese language or in english language?
The lyrics are made individually but all band members opine, include or modify whatever they want. The focus of the lyrics usually attacks religion, politics and society. Diego based on themes, questions the weak point that will be addressed. Marlon writes aggressiveness, exuding hatred of each sentence, attacking the futile image of topics. Sommer portrays the regression of humanity, based on that leads to decadence. It is usually so because that is the style of each member writing the lyrics. Make lyrics in portuguese language is somehow a little more difficult than in english language because the issues we talked the lyrics are very aggressive and try to portray the most similar possible.
05 - O Que O Cerca Está Morto an album is extremely brutal, heavy, fast and aggressive. Since these are features of Homicide. And this new album is superior to the previous album Total Decay. For you what is the difference between the two albums?
Total Decay is a demo recorded in 2007. The ideas of the band were different from today. The band was another formation, with in english language lyrics, songs with lots of time and we had enough Death Metal influences. With the current line up, the sound is faster and similar to Grindcore root. We let the influences of metal and put more influence Hardcore Crust and seek to make songs shorter, more bases and putting information in a short time.
06 - How did the participation of Cristiano (Bandanos/Necromaster) and Thiago (D.E.R.) on the song A Lei Da Obrigação?
I'm (Sommer) friends with Cris for some time and always wanted to have his participation in some of my projects. For this album of Homicide we also wanted some "appetizer" and we decided we would call someone to record some sound and Cris came to the head at the time. He accepted the record and invited Thiago D.E.R. to record together. When he told me this participation, I liked it a lot because the D.E.R. is for me one of the best Grind bands in the world. We choose the music and we were waiting for the recording of crazy guys. The result was amazing and A Lei da Obrigação is one of the best moments of the album without a doubt, because Homicide is just the instrumental sound with the vocals by Cris and Thiago.
07 - And the shows? Homicide even played in the second half of 2012 in São Paulo. There are invitations to play in other brazilian states?
We have received many invitations to show, especially the guys from Porto Alegre is that where will be our first show of 2013. We also received invitations to shows in northeastern Brazil and in several other places in the country and hope to touch every place.
08 - Sommer, what's the difference between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul scene?
There is, and the main difference is the question of people. In Rio Grande do Sul the public is more energetic, the gigs are usually small, but they are animated. The people is insane when the band is playing and makes every second of being memorable gig. In Santa Catarina the audience is a bit more reserved and observant. At least in the hardcore/crust punk/grind is so. Of course the public is animated here too, but there is a good contrast. But both states are similar on the question of activities/gigs that happen. Always had their ups and downs, and at the present time, both states are being very productive with good bands working hard, organizing gigs and releasing quality material.
09 - For people who don't know, what good bands from Santa Catarina?
The bands active at the time are bands our friends, as Sengaya, Verminoise, Infectai, Antichrist Hooligans, Sin Rejas, Skombrus...
10 - How do you feel so much faith when everything around them is already dead?
I know this question hahaha... But we not have faith. We have no hope of better days. Humanity is dead and now just wait putrefaction. Meanwhile, we walked together to the dead spreading more disgrace and destruction!
11 - To end the chat, what are the plans for 2013?
Our full length just been launched and we publicize it much. And although newly released this material, we are already making new sounds for the next releases. Now in january/february will be released on a compilation LP format by Imminent Destruction Records from England, where we will be participating with a sound unheard alongside bands like Warvictims, Kvoteringen, Napalm Raid, Truncheons, Violent Party, Infernoh, etc... And a little further ahead will be released other material on vinyl by the same label, a split 7" with a very cool band from Japan. We will release version LP O Que O Cerca Está Morto. So 2013 is it. Rehearse, write, record and spread the disgrace sound to where we can!
