Quando eu conheci o termo ou o rótulo sludgecore foi através de revistas de metal e as duas bandas primeiras bandas que eu ouvi foram a Eyehategod e Soilent Green. E é claro, eu pirei fácil. Lembro que a capa do meu caderno em 2001 era capa do álbum "Dopesick", cuja capa tem uma mulher com os olhos costurados e isso aterrorizava os colegas de sala de aula. Com o tempo a admiração e o respeito por essa banda só aumentou. E depois de quatorze anos a Eyehategod lança um full-length e está fantástico. Esse novo álbum começa com faixa "Agitation! Propaganda!", um típico som hardcore. Destaque também para as faixas "Quitter's Offensive", "Worthless Rescue", "Framed To The Wall", "Rebitussin and Reject" e "Medicine Noose", além da re-gravação de música "The Age of Bootcamp". Outro destaque é arte de capa que está ótima. O único ponto negativo desse álbum é que se trata do último registro do baterista Joe Fazzio, que morreu no ano passado. Bem, uma banda que têm loucos como Mike IX Williams e Jimmy Bower em sua formação, certamente nós escutaremos coisas boas e pesadas. Valeu a pena esperar quatorze anos por um full-length. Os caras que gravaram "Eyehategod" são: Mike IX Williams (vocais), Jimmy Bower (guitarras), Joe Fazzio (bateria), Gary Mader (baixo) e Brian Patton (guitarras). 

I heard for the term sludgecore for the first time from Brazilian heavy metal magazines and the first two bands I heard were Eyehategod and Soilent Green. And of course, I liked those bands. I remember the cover of my exercise book in 2001 was the album cover "Dopesick", whose cover has a woman with stitched eyes and my classmates were terrified of this image. Over time my admiration and my respect for this band only increased. And after fourteen years Eyehategod launches a full-length in which is fantastic. This album begins with the track "Agitation! Propaganda!", a typical hardcore sound. Highlights also include the tracks "Quitter's Offensive", "Worthless Rescue", "Framed To The Wall", "Robitussin and Reject" and "Medicine Noose" beyond re-recording of the song "The Age of Bootcamp". Another highlight is the cover art which is great. The only downside of this album is that it is the last record of drummer Joe Fazzio, who died last year. Well, a band that have mad people like Mike IX Williams and Jimmy Bower in his formation, certainly we will listen heavy music. For me, listening this full-length after fourteen years is magical. The people who recorded "Eyehategod" are: Mike IX Williams (vocals), Jimmy Bower (guitars), Joe Fazzio (drums), Gary Mader (bass) and Brian Patton (guitars).

Século Sinistro é o mais novo álbum dos Ratos de Porão. A banda não gravava algo inédito (músicas próprias) desde 2010, ano de lançamento do split EP com espanhóis da Looking For An Answer, que, diga-se de passagem, é um puta arregaço. E em 2014 surge esse novo álbum, sendo muito aguardado pelos admiradores da barulheira dos Ratos de Porão. E que álbum brutal! Século Sinistro segue à veia maldita iniciada em 1997 com o lançamento do álbum Carniceria Tropical. Digo isso no sentido dos sons serem extremamente mais brutais e caóticos, isso é fato! O álbum inicia com sons de bombas, tiros de armas de fogo, pessoas gritando e correndo, o que nos faz lembrar-se dos conflitos nas grandes capitais brasileiras no ano passado. Assim é "Conflito Violento", música que relata o que ocorreu nas ruas do Brasil durante os manifestos. "Neocanibalismo", como o próprio nome diz, a letra se trata de canibalismo humano e tem como participação especial no solo de guitarra Moyses Kolesne (Krisiun). "Grande Bosta" relata o modo de vida de um brasileiro de baixa renda, sendo o mesmo fanático por futebol, demais vícios e hábitos. "Sangue e Bunda" tem a participação de um porco nos "vocais". Isso mesmo! O porco se chama Atum e é o animal de estimação do João Gordo. Essa faixa fala sobre justiça com as próprias mãos e que o povo quer ver mesmo é sangue e bunda. A faixa título "Século Sinistro" é uma música na qual o Gordo "fala" sem parar, sendo uma faixa bem rápida musicalmente também, ou seja, hardcore. Letra bem forte, dando ideia que o pior está por vir, ou melhor, já está entre nós. "Jornada Para O Inferno" é uma das minhas faixas favoritas desse novo álbum. Composta por bons riffs de guitarra, essa canção relata a situação degradante das cadeias públicas brasileiras, algo como o próprio inferno na terra. "Prenúncio de Treta", música foda que fala sobre confusões e brigas de gangues. Mais outra faixa foda e também uma das minhas favoritas se chama "Stress Pós-Traumático". Essa música é sobre uma situação de um sequestro. Um deus está divido por duas orações, a da vítima implorando pela vida e a do ladrão/sequestrador temendo a prisão, a algema da polícia e também a morte. "Viciado Digital" foi a primeira música que eu escutei desse álbum e se trata da nova forma de vício entre as pessoas. "Boiada Pra Bandido" é uma música que fala sobre justiça e as leis brasileiras, na qual é feita por ladrões para favorecer ladrões. Em seguida os caras executam um cover da Anti-Cimex e a música escolhida dessa vez foi "Progeria of Power" e novamente com a participação no solo de guitarra por Moyses Kolesne. "Puta, Viagra e Corrupção" ironiza a vida de um deputado brasileiro. E pra fechar com chave de ouro, o último som desse álbum se chama "Pra Fazer Pobre Chorar", na qual mostra a realidade de famílias pobres desse país e que quando acontece alguma desgraça natural ou não, a situação se torna bem pior do que já era. A formação da banda está sólida, sendo a mesma formação desde 2003, então o entrosamento entre eles está impecável e isso é extremamente notável ao escutar esse álbum. Bom, Século Sinistro está foda pra caralho, o álbum está muito bom do início ao fim. O álbum foi produzido por João Gordo e Ratos de Porão. A pré-produção ficou por conta de Jean Dolabella (ex-Diesel, ex-Sepultura). A capa foi feita por Ricardo Tatoo. Ratos de Porão é: Gordo (vocals), Jão (guitarra), Boka (bateria) e Juninho (baixo).

Século Sinistro is the newest album from Ratos de Porão. The band had not recorded anything new (own music) since 2010, when they releases a split EP with the Spanish band Looking For An Answer, which, by the way, is very good. In 2014 this new album emerged, being highly anticipated by fans of the noisiness of Ratos de Porão. Brutal album! Século Sinistro follows the destructive path started in 1997 when Carniceria Tropical was released. I say this because the songs are extremely brutal and chaotic and that is a fact! The album begins with the sounds of bombs, gunshots fired, people screaming and running, which reminds us of the conflicts in major Brazilian capitals in the past year. "Conflito Violento" is a song that relates to what happened in the streets of Brazil during the manifestos. The lyrics of (the song) "Neocanibalismo", as the name implies, talk about (deal with) human cannibalism and has a special guest in the guitar solo Moyses Kolesne (Krisiun). "Grande Bosta" recounts the way of life of a poor Brazilian and how these people are fanatical about soccer and have other addictions and habits. A pig (or a pig's voice) is used as one of the vocals in "Sangue e Bunda". That's right! The pig is called Atum and is the pet of João Gordo. This track talks about taking justice into their own hands and that people want to see blood and even ass. The title track "Século Sinistro" is a song in which Gordo "talks" nonstop, it is also very fast musically, ie, a hardcore song. This lyric is quite shocking, giving the idea that the worst is to come, or rather is already among us. "Jornada Para O Inferno" is one of my favorite tracks on that album. Comprised of good guitar riffs, this song tells the degrading situation of Brazilian public prisons, something like hell on earth. "Prenúnicio de Treta" is a great song that talks about confusion and gang fights. Another great track and one of my favorites is called "Stress Pós-Traumático". This song is about a kidnapping. A god is divided by two prayers, the victim begging for life and the thief/kidnapper fearing the prison, being handcuffed by the police and also death. "Viciado Digital" was the first song I listened to on this album and the lyrics talk about the new form of addiction among people (the internet). "Boiada Pra Bandido" this track talks about taking justice into their own hands and about the laws of Brazil, which are made by thieves to help thieves. Then the guys perform a cover song of Anti-Cimex and the song chosen this time was "Progeria of Power" and again with participation in the guitar solo by Moyses Kolesne. "Puta, Viagra e Corrupção" quips the life of a Brazilian politician. And to close with a flourish, the last sound of this album is called "Pra Fazer Pobre Chorar" which depicts the reality of poor families in this country (Brazil) in which when natural disaster happens, the situation becomes much worse than it already was. The band is great, with the same lineup since 2003. The interplay between them is flawless and it is extremely noticeable when listening to this album. Well, Século Sinistro is an excellent album from start to finish. The album was produced by João Gordo and Ratos de Porão. Pre-production was done by Jean Dolabella (ex-Diesel, ex-Sepultura). The cover art was done by Ricardo Tatoo. Ratos de Porão is: Gordo (vocals), Jão (guitars), Boka (drums) and Juninho (bass).

MAYHEM - ESOTERIC WARFARE

A primeira música desse novo álbum da Mayhem que eu ouvi foi "Psywar" e gostei muito. Logo imaginei que as outras músicas seriam tão massa como está citada. Resultado: que álbum excelente! Todas as músicas são muito fodas, onde a criatividade se alia a brutalidade extrema de uma forma brilhante. Existe de certa forma um experimentalismo nas músicas, o que as deixou com uma atmosfera obscura, negra e maligna, sendo essa uma grande característica desse novo álbum e, sobretudo da Mayhem. Os caras estão tocando e dominando muito os seus instrumentos de guerra. Grande destaque para Hellhammer (polvo humano) e Attila Csihar (um dos melhores e mais criativos vocalistas da atualidade). As letras são outro aspecto muito importante desse trabalho, pois cada palavra cantada se encaixa perfeitamente nas ondas sonoras feitas por eles. Ou seja, as letras são ótimas, pois estão ligadas aos mecanismos de controle da mente e a guerra psicológica. E difícil escolher qual é melhor faixa desse novo álbum, pois TODAS são muito boas, mas eu destaco "Watcher", "MILAB", "Throne of Time" e "Posthuman". Essa arte de capa sensacional foi feita por Zbyszek Bielak. Esoteric Warfare é um excelente álbum do início ao fim. Sem dúvida é um dos melhores álbuns de 2014. A vontade do homem está fodida e os soldados da guerra esotérica são: Attila Csihar (vocais), Hellhammer (bateria), Necrobutcher (baixo), Teloch (guitarra) e Charles Hedger (guitarra). 

The first song of the new album Mayhem I heard was "Psywar" and liked it alot. So, I thought the other songs would be as good as "Psywar". Result: excellent album! All songs are very good, where creativity is allied to extreme brutality brilliantly. There is somewhat of an experimentalism in music, which leave them with an obscure, dark and evil atmosphere, this is a great feature of this new album and especially of Mayhem. The guys are playing well and dominating their instruments of war. Highlight for Hellhammer (human octopus) and Attila Csihar (one of the best and most creative vocalists of our time). The lyrics are another very important aspect of this work, because every word sung perfectly fits the sound waves made ​​by them. That is, the lyrics are great, because the themes are related to psychological warfare and mind control mechanisms. It's hard to choose which is best track on this new album, because ALL are very good, but I highlight "Watcher", "MILAB", "Throne of Time" and "Posthuman". This sensational cover art was done by Zbyszek Bielak. Esoteric Warfare is an excellent album from start to finish. Undoubtedly one of the best albums of 2014. The will of man is broken and the soldiers of this esoteric warfare are: Attila Csihar (vocals), Hellhammer (drums), Necrobutcher (bass), Teloch (guitars) and Charles Hedger (guitars).

A Heädshöt é uma banda mexicana e "Fuck The War" é seu registro de 2014. O barulho feito por essa banda é d-beat/crustcore bem cru e direto com uma grande influência da Discharge. Essa fita k7 (versão física) é composta por dez faixas gritadas em espanhol e inglês, além de conter um versão para "Fear Of The War" (Disclose cover). A arte da capa foi feita por Daniel Artgrinder. Muito bom!

Heädshöt is a Mexican band and "Fuck The War" was released in the year 2014. The noise made by this band is d-beat/crustcore very raw and loud with influence of Discharge. This tape (physical version) consists of ten tracks and are sung in Spanish and English, and contains a version of "Fear Of The War" (Disclose cover). The cover art was done by Daniel Artgrinder. Very nice!

Depois da boa repercussão do último EP, a Electric Wizard lança o seu novo e excelente álbum chamado "Time To Die". O casal Jus Oborn e Liz Buckingham chamou para participar da gravação desse novo álbum o antigo baterista Mark Greening e o baixista Clayton Burgess (Satan Satyr’s e Terraset). As duas primeiras músicas escutadas por mim desse trabalho foram "I am Nothing" e "Sadiowitch" (ótimo vídeo clipe também) e realmente gostei do que eu ouvi e esperei para ouvir o álbum completo e eu não tive nenhuma decepção. Composto por nove faixas, "Time To Die" é um álbum longo (um pouco a mais que uma hora de duração), sombrio e macabro, onde a influência da Black Sabbath é certeira. As letras das canções são o outro destaque para essa obra, pois são muito boas e reais (algumas pessoas vivem esse estilo de vida, sem medo e sem dó!). "Time To Die" é um álbum excelente e sem dúvida um dos grandes destaques desse ano.

After the good repercussion from the last EP, Electric Wizard released their excellent new album called "Time To Die". The couple Jus Oborn and Liz Buckingham called to participate in the recording of this new album the former drummer Mark Greening and bassist Clayton Burgess (Satan Satyr's and Terraset). The first two songs I heard were "I am Nothing" and "Sadiowitch" (great video clip too) and really liked what I heard and I waited to hear the full album and I had no disappointment. Comprising nine tracks, "Time To Die" is an album with great length of time (a little more than one hour long), dark and macabre, where the influence of Black Sabbath is very clear. The lyrics are another highlight for this work because the content is very good and real (some people live this lifestyle without fear and without mercy!). "Time To Die" is an excellent album and undoubtedly one of the highlights of this years.
