Haavat is a new English hardcore/punk band made up of members of Deviated Instinct, Agnosy, Viha and Revulsion. This is Havaat's first demo consisting of nine tracks sung in Finnish by a woman (Katri of Viha). This is a good demo and will really please those who enjoy Havaat members' bands, Finnish and English hardcore/punk. Cover art by Mid (Deviated Instinct). Haavat: Katri (vocals), Alex (bass), Andy (drums) and Mid (guitars).

Haavat é uma nova banda hardcore/punk inglesa composta por membros da Deviated Instinct, Agnosy, Viha e Revulsion. Esta é a primeira demo da Havaat que é composta por nove faixas cantadas em finlandês por um vocal feminino (Katri da Viha). Essa demo é boa e vai agradar bastante quem curte as bandas dos membros da Havaat, hardcore/punk finlandês e inglês. A capa ficou por conta de Mid (Deviated Instinct). Following the acclaim of the underground audience worldwide with Grim Visions of Battle in 2013, Swordwielder released its second attack called System Overlord in August 2019. Continuing with the same influences as the first record, similar to crust performed by the pioneer bands of the English scene in the 80's like Axegrinder, Antisect, Amebix and Deviated Instinct, System Overlord is a heavy, powerful, filthy, dark, apocalyptic album and essentially crust. System Overlord is much better than the previous record. Composed of nine tracks, those with the most addictive sounds are"Violent Revolution", "Absolute Fear" (right in Axegrinder line), "Nuclear Winter", "Cyborgs" (closer to Antisect, musically), "Corrupt Future" and "Northern Light". To conclude, Swordwielder is one of the most interesting bands of this new generation stenchcore/crust and System Overlord is a great fucking album, one of my 2019 favorites.

Depois da boa aclamação do público underground mundo afora com Grim Visions of Battle de 2013, a Swordwielder lançou em agosto de 2019 o seu segundo ataque chamado System Overlord. Seguindo com as mesmas influências do primeiro registro, isto é, aquele crust executado pelas bandas pioneiras da cena inglesa nos anos 80 como Axegrinder, Antisect, Amebix e Deviated Instinct, System Overlord é um álbum pesado, poderoso, sujo, sombrio, apocalíptico e essencialmente crust, além do mais, System Overlord é muito melhor que o registro anterior. Composto por nove faixas, destaco os sons mais viciantes que são "Violent Revolution", "Absolute Fear" (bem na linha Axegrinder), "Nuclear Winter", "Cyborgs" (mais próxima da Antisect, musicalmente), "Corrupt Future" e "Northern Light". Para concluir, Swordwielder é uma das bandas mais interessantes dessa nova geração stenchcore/crust e System Overlord é um disco fodido pra caralho, sendo um dos meus favoritos de 2019.

BESTA - ETERNO RANCOR

Released in 2019, Eterno Rancor is Besta's new album and is ultra brutal and fast, as one might expect from a grindcore band. Eterno Rancor revolves around twenty minutes of destruction, it has sixteen tracks all of which are in Portuguese, except for the cover song of Bad Brains (which was very well done by the way). From this description, the reader must imagine an ordinary and unvarying album, something commonly called more of the same. But it is wrong to say this, because Eterno Rancor is a very heterogeneous album, in the sense of guitar riffs, rhythms of musical destruction (drum tempo, for example) and vocals (many types of vocals, without sounding linear all the time), and the producing of this record, that is the best of Besta's career. All these features make Eterno Rancor a simply killer album. The great cover art was made by Marco Donida. To conclude, I will translate a sentence from the Portuguese site Ultraje into a post about Besta in late 2018: "Eternal Rancor is a socially conscious record coming from four guys that feed on pulverizing and fracturing punk/grindcore, distorted landscapes and honesty". No more words, this is awesome!

Lançado em 2019, Eterno Rancor é o novo álbum da Besta e está ultra brutal e rápido, como deve se esperar de uma banda de grindcore. Eterno Rancor gira em torno de vinte minutos de destruição, na qual possui dezesseis faixas, quinze delas berradas em português, exceto o cover da Bad Brains (que ficou muito bem feito por sinal). A partir desta descrição, o leitor deve imaginar um álbum reto e sem variações, algo comumente chamado de mais do mesmo. Porém é errado afirmar isto, pois Eterno Rancor é um álbum bastante heterogêneo, no sentido dos riffs, ritmos das destruições musicais (andamento da bateria, por exemplo) e vocais (muitos tipos de vocais, sem soar linear o tempo todo), além da produção do registro, que é o melhor da Besta em sua carreira. Todas essas características fazem de Eterno Rancor um álbum simplesmente matador. A genial arte de capa foi feita por Marco Donida. Para concluir, eu vou usar uma frase do site português Ultraje em uma postagem sobre a Besta no final de 2018: "Eterno Rancor é um disco socialmente consciente vindo de quatro tipos que se alimentam de punk/grindcore pulverizador e fracturante, paisagens distorcidas e honestidade". Sem mais, bom pra caralho!

The first track I heard from this album was "Chico Picadinho (The Dicer)", the 2018 single, which also had a nice music video. From then on, I looked forward to the new record. I conclude that Pathologic Noise explodes ears and sends its listeners straight to hell with their third self-titled album which was released in 2019. Pathologic Noise consists of eleven brutal, obscene and bloody tracks highlighting "Carbonized in the Microwave", "Autophagy (Apocalypse into the Flesh)", "Chico Picadinho (The Dicer)", "Fucking with a Rusted Knife", "Splattered Abomination (Instrumental)" and "Brutal Parasite" (the end of this track is great, ie, closing with a golden key). You know that popular saying that wine gets better with age? This can also be applied to Pathologic Noise sound, as the guys are getting better and better and I say Pathologic Noise is better than Gore Aberration which is an excellent album. In short, one of the best records of 2019, a must for anyone who enjoys Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Pungent Stench and Exhumed. Hail Lust! Pathologic Noise: Tchescko Suppurator (vocals and bass), L. Muratchas (drums) and Claydson Melo (guitars). 

A primeira faixa que ouvi deste álbum foi "Chico Picadinho (The Dicer)", o single de 2018, que rendeu um belo vídeo clipe. A partir disso, aguardei com grande ansiedade o novo registro. Conclui que a Pathologic Noise explode ouvidos e envia os seus ouvintes diretamente para o inferno com o seu terceiro álbum auto-intitulado que foi lançado em 2019. Pathologic Noise é composto por onze faixas brutais, obscenas e sangrentas com destaque para "Carbonized in the Microwave", "Autophagy (Apocalypse into the Flesh)", "Chico Picadinho (The Dicer)", "Fucking with a Rusted Knife", "Splattered Abomination (Instrumental)" e "Brutal Parasite" (o final dessa faixa é foda, ou seja, fechando com chave de ouro). Então, isso também pode ser aplicado na sonoridade da Pathologic Noise, pois os caras estão se superando cada vez mais e digo que Pathologic Noise é melhor que Gore Aberration, que é um puta álbum. Em suma, um dos melhores registros de 2019, indispensável para quem curte Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Pungent Stench e Exhumed. Hail Lust! Pathologic Noise: Tchescko Suppurator (vocal e baixo), L. In 2012 there was a meme with a dinosaur that said: If Christian black metal is called white metal, is Christian death metal called life metal? Although the album is called Life Metal, Sunn O))) has no Christian preaching in its music and I just remembered that meme. Well, Life Metal is composed of four tracks, "Between Sleipnir's Breaths" is the only one that contains vocals and was made by Hildur Guðnadóttir. So, the other tracks follow the characteristics of Sunn O))), that is, heavy, slow and macabre guitars with a dark and murky atmosphere. Very good!

Lá pra 2012 existia um meme com um dinossauro que dizia: se black metal cristão é chamado de white metal, então o death metal cristão é chamado de life metal? Apesar do álbum se chamar Life Metal, a Sunn O))) não tem nenhum tipo de pregação cristã em seu som e apenas lembrei desse meme. Bem, Life Metal é composto por quatro faixas, sendo que "Between Sleipnir's Breaths" é a única que contém vocais e que foram feitos por Hildur Guðnadóttir. No demais, as outras faixas seguem bem as características da Sunn O))), ou seja, guitarras pesadas, lentas e macabras com atmosfera tenebrosa e negra. Muito bom!

With its very characteristic mix of death/thrash metal, Legion of the Damned released the album Slaves of the Shadows Realm in 2019. Consisting of nine tracks, I highlight "The Widow's Breed", "Nocturnal Commando" and "Slaves of the Southern Cross". The cover art made by Gyula Havancsák reminded me of the Night King and the white walkers from the television series (books as well) Game of Thrones. No big deal, but a cool album.

Com a sua mistura bem característica de death/thrash metal, a Legion of the Damned lançou em 2019 o álbum Slaves of the Shadows Realm. Composto por nove faixas, destaco "The Widow's Breed", "Nocturnal Commando" e "Slaves of the Southern Cross". A capa feita pelo Gyula Havancsák lembrou o Rei da Noite e os caminhantes brancos da série televisiva (livros também) Game of Thrones. Nada demais, mas um álbum legal.

Deserts of Ash is the 2019 album released by Warcollapse, succeeding the spectacular Defy of 2007, however they released in 2011 the cover songs EP entitled Crap, Scrap And Unforgivable Slaughter Vol.2. Deserts of Ash is a brutal, violent and straight to the point album, following the characteristics of all the records that have marked Warcollapse over the years. Of the five excellent tracks, I have to highlight the whole lyrical part, as it represents exactly what is happening in the world right now, a wake-up call to governments that rule only for some, populism, patriotism, selfishness, elitism, lies of imperialism, fake news, mass manipulation, alienation and deforestation/destruction of the environment (a note: August 10, 2019, 'Fire Day' - the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest has begun its process of overburning [deserts of ash] by the big landowners with the endorsement of the country's president in the name of greed and economy, disrespecting nature, the native peoples who inhabit the region and humanity as a whole). In this way, Stiv (Visions of War) perfectly captured the idea of the album and his art exemplifies it very well. Deserts of Ash was recorded and mixed at Wolfden Studio by Jocke (Wolfbrigade) and mastered by Brad (From Ashes Rise and Lebanon) at Audiosiege. Warcollapse is one of my favorite bands and I may be overly excited to talk about the band, but I say Deserts of Ash is one of the best records of 2019. Badass! Listen loudly and think about it! Deserts of Ash é o álbum de 2019 lançado pela Warcollapse, sucedendo o espetacular Defy de 2007, entretanto eles lançaram em 2011 o EP só de covers intitulado Crap, Scrap And Unforgivable Slaughter Vol.2. Deserts of Ash é um álbum brutal, violento, curto e grosso, seguindo as características de todos os registros que marcaram a Warcollapse através dos anos. Das cinco excelentes faixas, eu tenho que destacar toda a parte lírica, pois representa exatamente o que está acontecendo no mundo neste momento, um sinal de alerta para governos que governam apenas para alguns, populismo, patriotismo, egoísmo, elitismo, mentiras do imperialismo, fake news, manipulação das massas, alienação e desmatamento/destruição do meio ambiente (uma observação: 10 de agosto de 2019, o 'Dia do Fogo' - a Floresta Amazônica brasileira iniciou o seu processo de super queimadas [deserto de cinzas] feito pelos grandes latifundiários com o aval do presidente desse país em nome da ganância e economia, desrespeitando a natureza, os povos nativos que habitam a região e a humanidade como um todo). De modo exato, Stiv (Visions of War) captou perfeitamente a ideia do álbum e sua arte exemplifica muito bem isso. Deserts of Ash foi gravado e mixado no Wolfden Studio por Jocke (Wolfbrigade) e masterizado por Brad (From Ashes Rise e Lebanon) no Audiosiege. Eu sou suspeito para falar da Warcollapse, já que é uma das minhas bandas favoritas, mas digo que Deserts of Ash é um dos melhores registros de 2019. Fodido! Escute alto e reflita! Mystifier is one of the classic Brazilian black/death metal bands, which belongs to the same old school as Sarcófago, Vulcano, Sepultura and Aamonhammer. In 2019, Mystifier presents its worshipers and admirers with their new album Protogoni Mavri Magiki Dynasteia, the fifth in the band's career and released by Season of Mist. Composed of ten tracks, Protogoni Mavri Magiki Dynasteia stands out for both album production and Mystifier's strengthening, in which my favorite tracks are "Protogoni Mavri Magiki Dynasteia", "Weighing Heart Ceremony", "Witching Lycanthropic Moon", "Akhenaton (Son Mighty Sun)", "Demoler Las Torres Del Cielo (En Nombre Del Diablo)", "(Introcucione D'la Melodia Mortuoria) Thanatopraxy" (influenced by Black Sabbath) and "Al Nakba (666 Days of War)". The magnificent cover art was made by Paolo Girardi. In short, Protogoni Mavri Magiki Dynasteia is simply one of the best metal albums of 2019 and is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Beherit, Blasphemy, Rotting Christ and Sarcófago. Badass! Mystifier: Beelzeebubth (guitar and backin' vocals), Sorcerer Do'Urden (vocals, bass and keyboard) and WarMonger (percussion and drums).

BRUJERIA - AMARICON CZAR [EP]

Capitalism versus Bolshevism: The Cold War is back! Oh yes, the American Berlin Wall is also being built. Thus, the paranoia, delirium, hatred and boyfriend of the Brazilian far-right (and even world) are very well represented in this cover of Brujeria's new EP. Amaricon Czar was released in 2019 and contains only two tracks: "Amaricon Czar" which has humorously acid lyrics about the Russians' involvement with Donald Trump in the last US election and "Lord Nazi Ruso" that addresses the history of youtuber and Russian Nazi named Aleksei Makeev who lived in Cancun, Mexico and who in 2017 became world famous by being lynched by a group of angry local citizens during which he stabbed and killed one of the attackers. He was therefore sentenced to thirty-seven years in prison for the murder of a Mexican citizen. Musically, both tracks resemble the album Pocho Aztlan released in 2016. Anyway, good! 

Capitalismo versus Bolchevismo: A Guerra Fria está de volta! Ah sim, o Muro de Berlim americano também está sendo construído. Dessa forma, a paranóia, o delírio, o ódio e o namorado da extrema-direita brasileira (e até mesmo mundial) estão muito bem representado nesta capa do novo EP da Brujeria. Amaricon Czar foi lançado em 2019 e contém apenas duas faixas: "Amaricon Czar" que tem uma letra humoristicamente ácida em relação ao envolvimento dos russos com Donald Trump na última eleição estadunidense e "Lord Nazi Ruso" que aborda a história do youtuber e nazista russo chamado Aleksei Makeev que vivia em Cancún no México e que em 2017 tornou-se famoso mundialmente ao ser linchado por um grupo de cidadãos locais raivosos durante os quais ele esfaqueou e matou um dos atacantes. Ele foi, portanto, condenado a trinta e sete anos de prisão pelo assassinato de um cidadão mexicano. Musicalmente, ambas as faixas se assemelham ao álbum Pocho Aztlan de 2016. Enfim, massa!
